Anna Gumiela, age 81 of Sauk Centre, died Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 5 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. James Statz will officiate with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home followed by Christian Mothers at 7 p.m.
Anna Gumiela was born September 8, 1924 in Circle of Oaks, Ukraine to Stephen and Anastasia (Roy) Dudycz. On June 29, 1944 she married John Gumiela in Germany. The couple came to the United States in 1949 as displaced persons under the sponsorship of Our Lady of the Angels parish and resided in Sauk Centre since then. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.
Survivors include four children, Czeslaw Gumiela of Burtrum, Teresa (Joe Green) Gumiela of Hinckley, Halina Gumiela of Bourbonnais, Illinois and Stephen (Sheila) Gumiela of Sartell; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph, Povlo and Slocko Dudycz, all of Ukraine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Gumiela on February 1, 1980; and brother, Volodco Dudycz.
