Ann T. Bruggenthies, 80, of Grey Eagle died Friday at St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Ann's life will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2004 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Grey Eagle with Rev. Arlie Sowada officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph's Chapel in Grey Eagle. Christian Mothers will pray at 6:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church chapel.
Ann Bruggenthies was born on February 12, 1924 in Sauk Centre Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Henry and Elizabeth (Huehne) VanHavermaet. She was united in marriage to Robert G. Bruggenthies on September 17, 1946 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre. They have resided in Grey Eagle where she loved gardening, canning, sewing, picking strawberries and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Bruggenthies of Grey Eagle; children, Mary Ahles of New Munich, Jane Osterberg (Skip) of Prior Lake, Jean Jennen (Virgil) of Mesa, AZ, Richard Bruggenthies (Carol) of Foley, Ronnie Bruggenthies (Cindy) of Burtrum and Ralph Bruggenthies of Grey Eagle; 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Margaret Rasmussen of Ward Springs, Frances "Red" Terwey (Roman) of Grey Eagle, MaryAnn Kiffmeyer of Wells, Henry "Hinnie" VanHavermaet (Lucille) of Ward Springs, and Elizabeth "Betty" Schimmel of Ward Springs; sisters-in-law, Betty and Ilene VanHavermaet of Sauk Centre, and Jenny VanHavermaet of White Bear Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Bruggenthies, Jr. "Gumper"; sister and brothers, Loretta, Norbert, Louis, Ray, and John VanHavermaet; and 1 grandchild, Cynthia Standish.
Casket bearers will be Scott Osterberg, Missy, Alicia and Bryan Bruggenthies, Brenda Lackmann, Aaron Meagher. Cross bearer will be Mary Ahles and scripture bearer will be Andrea Bruggenthies.
Memorials are preferred.
