Angeline G. "Angie" Anderson, age78 of Grey Eagle, died Friday, December 9, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Inurnment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church in Grey Eagle. Parish prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the church.

Angie was born on November 23, 1933 in Melrose, MN at her great grandmother's home, Barbara Kroll, who was the local midwife. Her parents were Frances and Hubert Van Heel. Angie attended country school (known now as the Wessel school house) for the first two years of her education, boarding with her grandparents during the school year. She then attended the Red Oak Grove District #151 country school near Fairhaven and completed the 8th grade. She was married to James G. Anderson on October 13, 1953, at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Angie and Jim purchased and operated a dairy farm in Round Prairie Township, near Grey Eagle. They operated the farm for 40 years and retired from farming in October of 1993. When Jim was drafted to the Army in 1955, Angie worked for her uncles, Mike and Henry Huhne (Huhne Bros. Farm) until Jim's discharge. After Jim's discharge, they continued to operate the dairy farm. Jim and Angie retired from farming and moved to Birchdale Township near Ward Springs and continue to reside there.Angie loved horses all of her life and enjoyed training, driving, and showing horses for many years with her husband and family. Angie devoted her life and skills to providing for her family and friends. She was an avid seamstress and quilter and known for her expertise. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and growing flowers. She was an avid bird watcher. Angie was always willing to help others, by offering care packages and personal service. Angie enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and step-grandchildren, sharing her life stories with them.

Angie is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. During her lifetime, she was a member of the Lake Region Saddle Club in Alexandria, Birch Lake Riders in Grey Eagle, North Central Morgan Association in Minneapolis, Todd County NFO, and Little Sauk Legion Auxillary. She served in various officer positions with these organizations.

Angie is survived by her husband of 57 years, James G. Anderson of Grey Eagle; children, Kathleen (David) Steinbach of New Rockford, ND, Steven (Sue) Anderson of Farwell, Allan (Mary Robinson) of Ladysmith, WI, Nancy (Gene Klingberg) Haley of Hoffman; three grandsons, Billy Steinbach, Garrett and Justin Haley; step-grandson, Jason Gylsen; step-great-grandchildren, Darrian Peterson, Robb and Jayden Gylsen. brothers and sisters, Alice Molitor of St. Cloud, Barbara (Rich) Retka of St. Cloud, Gordan (Jeannie) Van Heel of New Brighton, Geraldine Lyon of Mesa, AZ, and Michael Van Heel of St. Cloud; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was in preceded in death by her brother, Adelbert Van Heel; and her parents.
