Angeline T. Abeln, age 77 of Sartell, formerly of Avon, passed away on Monday, December 22 surrounded by her family in love, song and prayer at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Avon with Rev. Blane Wasnie, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday evening.Angeline was born on September 6, 1931 to John and Katherine (Kociemba) Jonas in Avon, Minnesota. She married William J. Abeln on April 30, 1949 in St. Anna. Together they resided in Avon for most of their life and owned and operated Abeln Food Market for 40 years. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Homemade coffee cake and caramel rolls were her specialties. She also loved music. She spent 18 years playing the organ, accordion, and guitar as the Polish Snappers Band. She cherished her grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Angeline is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Abeln; children, Jane (Michael) McGee, Robert (Joyce) Abeln, Carol (Frank) Kelash, Allen (Jean) Abeln, and Michael (Barbara) Abeln; 11 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcella and Mary Helen; brothers, Peter and Stephen.
Angeline was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rosie; brother, Archie.
Serving as casket bearers will be Joshua Abeln, Nicole Bratvold, Michael Munsterteiger, Jessica Hennen, Gordon Smith and David Ritzer. Cross bearer will be Sarah Abeln and scripture bearer will be Mitchell Abeln.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta.
