Aloys R. “Al” Bauer, age 76, formerly of Melrose, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Harmony House in Pierz, Minnesota.
A Memorial Service will be held privately with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Inurnment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Melrose with military honors by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.
Aloys Raymond Bauer was born February 5, 1945 in Melrose, Minnesota to Ervin and Cecelia (Stern) Bauer. He graduated from Melrose High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army where he was honorably discharged after his service. He was united in marriage to Linda Hallermann and later divorced. Al farmed and also owned and operated a milk hauling business. He enjoyed socializing, playing BINGO, and was a jokester who had an infectious laugh.
Survivors include his children, Vicky (Chad) Doetkott of Grey Eagle, Jason (Kim) Bauer of Melrose, Sara (Corey) Sand of Melrose, Kevin (Mindy) Bauer of Melrose, and Kurt (Jean) Bauer of Villard; 11 grandchildren, Jordan, Erika, Olivia, Bryant, Nolan, Devin, Isaac, Kaylee, JaLynn, Ava, and Kaden; one great-grandson, Brooks; brothers and sister, Ervin, Jr. (Cecilia) Bauer of Melrose, Joann Gerads of Freeport, and Sylvester "Butch" (Kathy) Bauer of Melrose; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Al was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Bauer; and an infant brother.
