Aloys Frank Hoeschen was born November 20, 1926 in Freeport, Minnesota to Albert and Rose (Barhorst) Hoeschen. He was very proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army from Feb. 27, 1945 through Dec. 14, 1946. He married Jane Weisser on April 24, 1951 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Allie worked as a truck driver at Swift and Company for 24 years, Kraft for 21 years, and UAP for 12 years. He also worked as a custodian at the American Legion for 22 years. He volunteered his time with Meals on Wheels for 10 years as well as taking veterans to their medical and personal appointments.

Allie enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his friends at the Senior Center, but most of all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was an avid gardener of a huge garden, and was happy to share his produce with others. He faithfully listened to Old Time Music and Polkas, and enjoyed his daily three mile walk. He made the best of each and every day; he was always on the move. Allie loved life and his friends. He would make his "routine stop" to visit with his friends for a drink before heading home for the evening.

Allie was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Post 67 and Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853 for 70 plus years.

Survivors include his children, Michael (Kathi) Hoeschen of Sauk Centre and Mary (Dave) Walters of Sauk Centre; two grandchildren, Stacey Lhotka of Alexandria and Chad Hoeschen of Watford City, North Dakota; three great-grandchildren, Jameson and Jada McAdoo, and Joseph Hoeschen; brothers and sisters, Melvin (Mary Ann) Hoeschen of Detroit Lakes, Ervin (Donna) Hoeschen of Texas, Al (Carlene) Hoeschen of Fridley, Evelyn (Dan) Majkrzak of Minneapolis, Richard (Janet) Hoeschen of Minneapolis, Marge (Clinton) Martenson of Duluth, and Arlene (Merle) Francis of Minneapolis.

Allie was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Hoeschen on March 25, 2015; daughter, Nancy Hoeschen in 1969; brothers, Edmund, Ralph, and Raymond Hoeschen; and sister, Sue Brakken.

Serving as casket bearers will be Chad Hoeschen, Stacey Lhotka, Kenneth Hoeschen, David Hoeschen, Jeff Hoeschen, Marty Sunderman, and Loren Tank.
