Funeral services for Alma Helen Zaczkowski, formerly of Padua and Sauk Centre were 10:30 am Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Jeff Ethen and Rev. James Statz concelebrating. Burial will followed in Calvary Cemetery, Sauk Centre.

Reviewal was Monday, March 17, 2003 from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Christian Mothers and St. Margaret's Mission Group prayed at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m.

Mrs. Zaczkowski, 90, died Thursday, March 13, 2003 at the Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River, Minnesota, where she had resided for several months. She was born February 9, 1913 in Roscoe, Minnesota to Tobias and Anna (Beeckler) Hormann. She attended public school in Roscoe and then worked for several years as a domestic care giver for a prominent family in Minneapolis. She married Leo R. Zaczkowski on November 24, 1937 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Roscoe. The couple farmed for a while in partnership with Mr. Zaczkowski's parents, Thomas and Mary Zaczkowski of Roscoe, before purchasing their own farm in 1942 in Padua. They farmed until 1972 when they retired and moved to a home just south of Sauk Centre. Mr. Zaczkowski died on February 6, 1984. Mrs. Zaczkowski moved in 1990 to a home in Sauk Centre and after suffering a stroke in 1996 has resided in several nursing care facilities. Mrs. Zaczkowski was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Padua and Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. She is a past member of Christian Mothers, St. Margaret's Mission Group and the Catholic Aid Association.

Casket bearers were Mrs. Zaczkowski's grandsons, Jim, Tom, Dan, Mark and Jeff Zaczkowski and Jason Krick. Cross bearer was Kim Zaczkowski and scripture bearer was Gabe Zamor. Lector was her grandson, Scott Zaczkowski.

Alma is survived by six children and their spouses, Ronald (Jan) of Fridley, James M. (Stephanie) of Elk River, Ken (Kathy) of Circle Pines, Dale (Jan) of Sauk Centre, Leon (Jeanette) of St. Paul, Mary Jane (Jim) Krick of Monticello; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Loretta Zaczkowski of Park Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.Besides her husband,

Mrs. Zaczkowski was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Hailey Maureen Krick; three brothers, Ray Ed and Ben Hormann; and two sisters, Eleanor Heinen and one in childhood.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association and the American Cancer Society.
