Alma M. Schloegl, age 94 of Sauk Centre, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Fairway Pines Assisted Living in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. James Statz will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
Alma Altendahl was born August 17, 1918 in New Munich, Minnesota to Henry and Anna (Doll) Altendahl. She married Robert "Bob" Schloegl in November, 1941 in New Brighton . The couple lived in Savage and later moved to Rosemount where Alma worked at a gas station and also on the assembly line at a pig's feet plant. They then farmed south of Sauk Centre for 17 years on the Schloegl home farm. Alma loved helping on the farm, especially milking the cows. In 1963 they moved to town in Sauk Centre and Alma worked at Fingerhut. The couple had resided in Birchdale Township, Todd County since 1973. In 2011 Alma moved to Fairway Pines Assisted Living in Sauk Centre.
Alma was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. She was a Christian Mother and enjoyed gardening and canning. Her grandchildren especially loved her homemade jelly.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Olson of Delano; three grandchildren, Lonney (Amy) Olson, Monty (special friend, Angela Ewert) Olson, and Iris Olson; four great-grandchildren, Nathan O'Sullivan, Anabella, Wolf, and Magnus Olson; and sister, Mary Ann (Cyrus) Kammeier.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Schloegl on April 11, 2009; parents; sister, Dorothy Everett; and brothers, Henry, Frederick, and Walter Altendahl.
Cross bearer will be Anabella Olson and scripture bearer will be Nathan O'Sullivan.
