Alma V. Meyer, age 97 of Meire Grove died Sunday, May 9, 2004 at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 12 at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove with Rev. Ronald Dockendorf and Rev. Joe Korf concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. St. Mary's Society, Poor Soul's Society and Holy Rosary Society will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Alma Meyer was born on July 7, 1906 in Meire Grove, Minnesota to Bernard and Rose (Imdieke) Meyer. She started her working career in Pontiac, Michigan and later moved to Minneapolis, Sauk Centre and St. Cloud. She then moved to Meire Grove where she retired. Alma enjoyed needlework, gardening, playing cards and flowers. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove, St. Mary's Society, Poor Soul's Society, Holy Rosary Society and the St. John's Catholic Aid.
Survivors include her sister, Marie Korf of Elrosa; sister-in-law, Marcella Meyer of Melrose; and many nieces and nephews.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Rose Meyer; brother and sisters, Edwin Meyer, Thecla Caspers, Verena Marthaler and Marina Botz.
Serving as casket bearers will be John Korf, Steven Korf, Joel Marthaler, Bernard Caspers, Roy Meyer and Paul Meyer. Serving as cross bearer will be Jeanette Miller and scripture bearer will be Elvira Grundmayer. Gift bearers will be Carolyn Botz and Mary Ellen Simon. Becky Strupeck will give the readings.
