Alma M. Krousey, age 77, of Burtrum, died after a long illness with colon cancer on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at her home in Burtrum.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 17 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Grey Eagle. Chaplain Kay Johnson of Unity Family Hospice will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at the MN State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home in Grey Eagle.
Alma Mueller was born December 12, 1931 in Alma, Wisconsin to Edward and Mabel (Yost) Mueller. On June 1, 1952 she married John Krousey in Hudson, Wisconsin. Alma worked as a registered nurse at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre for 3 years and then at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls for 23 years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, watching and feeding the birds, cooking, crocheting, and knitting.
Survivors include her husband, John Krousey of Burtrum; children, John (Jeannie) Krousey of Williams, MN, Dan (Lori) Krousey of Sauk Centre, Dave Krousey of Sauk Centre, Matt (Barb) Krousey of Swanville, Jim (Carol) Krousey of Little Falls, Tom Krousey of Rose Bud, AR, Gretchen (Doug) Hollenbeck of Burke, VA, Mary (Bob) Davis of Hillman, Carolyn Krousey of Pickerton, OH, and Anna (Scott) Cooper of Detroit Lakes; 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris, Katherine, Audrey, and Marion; brothers, Lee and Curtis.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mabel Mueller.
Serving as casket bearers will be Alma's sons, John, Dan, Dave, Matt, Jim, and Tom.
