Allan F. Bromenshenkel, age 82 of Sauk Centre, died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 6 p.m. Friday evening.
Allan Fredrick Bromenshenkel was born September 20, 1929 in Ashley Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Albert and Elizabeth (Meyer) Bromenshenkel. He graduated from Sauk Centre High School. He was united in marriage to Mildred Meyer on September 25, 1951 at St. John's Catholic Church in Meier Grove. Allan worked at Borgman Implement for twenty years followed by owning Heartland Equipment for twenty years. Allan enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and visiting with friends and family.
Allan was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Catholic Financial, Bishop Busch Council 4863 Knights of Columbus, and was a Crosier Apostolate.
Allan is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mildred Bromenshenkel of Sauk Centre; son, Ronald (Donna) Bromenshenkel of Sauk Centre; daughters, Therese (Ken) Friedrichs of Little Sauk and Ann (Joe) Berling of Melrose; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Bromenshenkel of Sauk Centre; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Verena Steffes, Irene (Ray) Trisko, Dorothy Bromenshenkel, Jane (Cyril) Meyer all of Sauk Centre, Esther Winters of West Union, Evelyn (Allen) Siegle of Long Prairie, and Lillian (Eli) Lucas of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and sisters-in-law, Hildegard, Leona, and Elsie Bromenshenkel.
Allan was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Bromenshenkel in 2004; parents, Albert and Elizabeth Bromenshenkel; sisters, Rita Bromenshenkel and Mary Gritzmacher Langer; brothers, Lawrence, Victor, Robert, and Leonard Bromenshenkel; brothers-in-law, Ed Steffes, Vern Winters, Norman Gritzmacher, and Dan Langer.
Serving as casket bearers will be his grandsons, Adam Bromenshenkel, Shawn Bromenshenkel, Bryan Bromenshenkel, Jason Bromenshenkel, Marcus Bromenshenkel, Isaac Berling, Jacob Berling, Tyler Berling, and Michael Friedrichs. Cross bearer will be his great-grandson, Zachary Tschida and scripture bearer will be his granddaughter, Sara Tschida. Serving as gift bearers will be his granddaughters, Jill Friedrichs, Heather Juelke, and Angie Fuechtmann. Lectors will be his grandson, Isaac Berling and granddaughter, Kristen Bromenshenkel.
