Alice DeGree

Alice A. DeGree, age 91 of Montevideo, died Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital in Montevideo, Minnesota.

A private family service has been held. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Alice Audre Ceynar was born January 7, 1921 in Getty Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to John James Ceynar, Jr. and Ethel (Veeder) Ceynar and grew up on the Veeder family homestead southwest of Sauk Centre. On June 20, 1940 she married Norman F. DeGree in Webster, South Dakota. They were married 63 years. She was a member of the Montevideo Methodist Church in Montevideo. Alice enjoyed playing cards and watching sporting events on television. She also bowled and golfed for many years.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharron (Ron) Knutson and Sandy DeGree; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Norman F. DeGree; parents; one brother; five sisters; and two nephews.
