Alice M. Borchert, age 68 of Spring Hill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Buffalo Hospital in Buffalo, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Mark Willenbring officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Parish prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the church.

Alice Borchert was born on January 8, 1940 in Butte, Montana. She was united in marriage to Albert A. Borchert Jr. on June 6, 1956 in Montana where they resided until moving to Long Prairie. They then resided in a number of cities including Anchorage, Alaska, Grey Eagle and finally to Burtrum until her husband's death in 1983. Alice continued to live in Burtrum for a couple of years until moving to Florida where she lived for 13 years. In 2000, she returned to Minnesota to be closer to her family.She loved to garden; flowers were her life. She also enjoyed baking, bird watching, and making crafts. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathryn (Bob) Barten of Buffalo, Tammy (Steve) Pung of Spring Hill, Sheila Sissom of Canton, Illinois, and Barb (Pat) Welle of Lake Henry; sons, David (Jane) Borchert of Grey Eagle and Michael (Lori) Borchert of Browerville; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Lalum; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Audrey Charles; husband, Albert Borchert Jr. on March 20, 1983; grandson, Mason Carrico; and her son-in-law, Bob Brinkman.

Serving as casket bearers will be Bob Barten, Pat Welle, Steve Pung, and Matt Evje. Cross bearer will be Michael Williams and scripture bearer will be Weston Brinkman.
