Alfrieda Roelike

Alfrieda C. "Frieda" Roelike, age 92 of Elrosa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at her home in Lake George Township, Stearns County, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 4 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa with Rev. Peter Kirchner officiating and Rev. Glenn Krystosek concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre.

Alfrieda Catherine Weber was born August 24, 1924 in Lake George Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to John and Mary (Botz) Weber. On June 5, 1946 she was united in marriage to Innocent "Bud" Roelike at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Frieda has lived on the family farm near Elrosa her entire married life. In her youth, she enjoyed fishing, bowling, quilting and crocheting. Her needlework continued throughout her life but as her family grew, reading, cooking and baking, and flower gardening became her hobbies. She also enjoyed taking Gator rides and loved admiring her flower gardens.

Frieda was devoted to her church and her family. She was a lifelong member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa where she was a member of the choir for over 70 years. She also was a member of the Elrosa Christian Women and Catholic United Financial. Frieda was a loving, caring, and a giving person not only to her husband and family, but to her friends as well. She was always very proud of her children and grandchildren and loved spending time visiting with them.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 70 years, Bud Roelike of Elrosa; children, Kathy (Hal) Kampsen of Sauk Centre, Kevin (Sheila) Roelike of Sauk Centre, Norma (Dan) Ellering of Sauk Centre, Don (Betty) Roelike of Belgrade, Larry (LuAnne) Roelike of Sauk Centre, Leon (Diane) Roelike of Sauk Centre, Joel (Joyce) Roelike of Lake Henry, Lisa (Scott) Tullis of Sauk Centre, Gregg (Debra) Roelike of St. Joseph, and Julie (Todd) Ruegemer of Cold Spring; 41 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren with two on the way; two great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; and sister-in-law, Marie Roelike Messer.

Frieda was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth Roelike; infant son, Scott Roelike; brothers, Frank, John, Martin, and Louis; sisters, Veronica, Rose, Christine, Gertrude, Sue, and Ann; and an infant sister, Kathleen.

Serving as casket bearers will be Tim Kampsen, Ryan Roelike, Shawn Ellering, Christopher Roelike, Devin Tullis, Anthony Roelike, Bryan Roelike, and Zackary Roelike. Cross bearer will be Nathaniel Roelike and scripture bearer will be Mitchell Ruegemer. Honorary bearers will be Karen Gruber, Joan Arceneau, T.C. Buckentine, and members of the Christian Mothers and Catholic United Financial. Lectors will be Doug Kampsen and Melissa Roelike. Gift bearers will be Tristen Anderson, Alicia Ehrnst, and Ashley Shrode. Flower, afghan, doily, cardinal, and book bearers will be Meghan Borgerding, Jenna Tullis, Courtney Roelike, Mason Ruegemer, and Sarah Shepherd.
