Agnes G. Reckoff, age 74 of Sauk Centre, died on Friday, January 9, 2004 at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. R.E. Bloemker will officiate with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
Agnes Reckoff was born on January 31, 1929 in Marshall, Minnesota to Theo-Phil and Elizabeth (De Buscher) Van De Veire. On January 21, 1946 she married Robert Ufkin in Granite Falls, Minnesota. They resided in Canby, the Minneapolis area and Sauk Centre. She married James Reckoff on October 21, 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They resided in Panorama City, California before moving to Sauk Centre in 1984. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Little Sauk American Legion Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star in Woodland Hills, California.
She enjoyed oil painting and crafts, watching birds and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, godmother and friend, who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband, James Reckoff of Sauk Centre; son, Ron Ufkin of Little Falls; daughters, Shirley Bishop, Kathy (Denny) Fletcher and Barb (Phil) Pfieffer, all of Sauk Centre, LeaAnn (Dennis) Lyon of Grey Eagle and Pegi (James) Webster of Minden, Nevada; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Leon "Bud" (Margie) Van De Veire of Canby and Maurice (Joyce) Van De Veire of Minnetonka; sisters, Madeline Thompson of Council, Idaho, Lucy Gawerecki of Taunton, Alma Quenell, Irene Van De Veire and Louise Van De Veire, all of Marshall; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, her other "sis", Millie Blank of Sauk Centre.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Ufkin; son, Kevin Ufkin in 1969; brother, Ray Van De Veire; sisters, Romania Breyfogle, Josephine Breyfogle and Elsie Breyfogle; two infant great granddaughters, Alexis Ann Lawrence and Izabella Paige Fletcher.
Serving as casket bearers will be Robert Gierke, Shawn Fletcher, Shane and Zachary Pfieffer, Jason Lyon and Robert Van De Veire. Honorary bearers will be members of the Little Sauk American Legion Auxiliary.
