Agnes M. Nathe, age 85 of Sauk Centre, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 29 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. James Statz will officiate with interment following in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Christian Mothers and Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Aid will pray at 7:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.
Agnes Nathe was born on June 26, 1918 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Henry and Regine (Korte) Schmidt. On April 25, 1939 she was married to Arnold J. Nathe at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. They farmed near Sauk Centre and then Westport. The couple retired in 1974 and moved to Sauk Centre in 1975. She was then employed part-time at Treonne's clothing store and later worked at Holy Family School. In March of 1998 she moved to Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home and in July of 1998 she moved to St. Michael's Nursing Home. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid.
Survivors include twelve children, Dorothy (Kenneth) Klaphake of Freeport, Joyce (John) Rutherford of St. Cloud, Richard (Jean) Nathe of St. Louis Park, Thomas (Jean) Nathe of Sauk Centre, Michael (Maria) Nathe of Winsted, Geraldyn (Gary) Dirkes of Albany, Mary (Dennis) Rieland and Paul Nathe of St. Cloud, Mark (Sue Jensen) Nathe, John (Marilyn) Nathe, Ronald Nathe and Laura (Troy) Muehlenhardt, all of Sauk Centre; daughter-in-law, Betty Nathe of Long Prairie; 39 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold on April 8, 1998; son, Kenneth; grandson, Greg Dirkes; two great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Edward, Alfred and Dorothy Schmidt and Sr. Regine Schmidt, OSB.
Serving as casket bearers will be her sons, Richard, Thomas, Michael, Mark, John and Ronald Nathe with her son, Paul Nathe serving as cross bearer. Scripture bearer will be Dan Nathe and honorary bearers will be Delores Orth, Lorraine Flowers, Alice Peters, Helen Jorgenson, Valeria Peters, Daisy Meier, Rose Betow, Rose Gettel, Esther Reuter, Pat Turner, Treonne Panitzke, Dorothy Unger, Arvilla and Pauline Rueckert.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Holy Family School, Alzheimer's Association and American Cancer Society.
