Adeline M. Pratt, age 89 of Melrose, died on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Melrose with Rev. Kevin Mann officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Melrose.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church in Melrose.
Adeline Magdalin Wolter was born August 10, 1923 in Barney, North Dakota to Richard and Mathilda (Drawz) Wolter. She married Harvey Pratt on October 3, 1949 in Whapeton, North Dakota. Adeline and her husband lived in Abercrombie, North Dakota until 1970 when they moved to Melrose. She worked at the Jennie-O Turkey Store for over 25 years until her retirement in 1989. Adeline was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 101, Sauk Centre Seniors, and the St. Paul's Ladies Aide. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and taking care of her plants.
Survivors include her children, James Pratt of Melrose, Julie Pratt-Blenker of St. Joseph, and Joel (Rhonda) Pratt of Rice; grandchildren, Nathan, Kyle, Collin, and Samantha; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Adeline was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Pratt on January 3, 1986; parents; brothers, William Wolter, Paul Wolter, Edwin Wolter, and infant brother Gerhard Wolter; sisters, Lydia Stolle, Elvira Alleman, and Alma Ziegelman.
Serving as casket bearers will be Samantha Pratt, Kyle Pratt, Nathan Blenker, and Collin Blenker.
