Adam T. Nelson, age 19 of Sauk Centre, died Friday, September 28, 2007 in rural Sauk Centre from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 1 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Kevin Born officiating.
Family and friends will meet at the Valley Lutheran Church in Rolette, North Dakota Tuesday, October 2 at 2 p.m. and process to Rolette City Cemetery for graveside services.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church.
Adam Nelson was born June 20, 1988 in Rolla, North Dakota to Allen and Diane (Lawler) Nelson. He grew up on a farm near Rolette, North Dakota and in 2001 the family moved to Sauk Centre. He was a 2007 graduate of Detroit Lakes High School, where he played football, was a member of FFA, and was an honor student. Since June he had resided in Sauk Centre where he was employed by John Wiese Ford.Adam loved the farm and riding horses. He was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his parents, Allen and Diane Nelson of Sauk Centre; brothers and sister, Lt. Chad Lawler, stationed in Killeen, Texas, Jessica Lawler of Bismarck, North Dakota, and Alex Nelson, at home; grandparents, Amy Nelson of Rolette, North Dakota, Estol and Verona Lawler of Hansboro, North Dakota; foster parents, Charles and Nancy Brooks of Detroit Lakes; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Arnold Nelson.
Serving as casket bearers will be Anthony Lewandowski, Curt Richard, Steven Grenier, Arnell Nelson, Lynn Lawler, and Devon Arnzen. Honorary bearers will be Kayci and Chelsey Richard, Charles and Nancy Brooks, Alex Lewandowski, Dillon Koster, Nate Tanem, Eugene Olson, and all of Adam's cousins and friends.
