A.D. "Toni" Nogaj, age 79 of Sauk Centre, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 18 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Rebecca Thomas will officiate with interment following in St. Catherine's Cemetery in Redwood Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
Toni Nogaj was born September 1, 1929 in Franklin, Minnesota to John and Louise (Kropp) Nogaj. She resided for many years in Council Bluffs, Iowa and retired from A T & T after more than 30 years of service. She was a player in the All-American Girl's Professional Baseball League, traveling the country to play baseball, and was also an avid skier. Since 1989 she had resided on Sauk Lake, near Sauk Centre. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include adopted grandchildren, Kathy (Ray) Mally, and Chris Hembertt, all of Omaha, Nebraska, and Pat (Brittany Kuperus) Gonzales of Sauk Centre; adopted great-grandchildren, Aaron, Sara, and Amber Gonzales; nephews, Rick and John Giddeon, and niece, Kathleen Ringgold, all of Wichita, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne "Bud" Nogaj; and sister, Marilyn "Tutti" Giddeon.
Serving as casket bearers will be Ray Mally, Chris Hembertt, Pat Gonzales, Clint Weilage, Jeremy Kuperus, and Kenny Jacobs.
